Flavor Crystals / Carsick Cars split (Mpls Ltd. / Genjing)
Chinese indie rock (Carsick Cars) split with Minneapolis psych (Flavor Crystals), all wrapped up with a cartoon art sleeve that only gets more delightfully irreverent on the back. The Carsick Cars side is effervescent sunshine pop, an outtake from their new album, while the Flavor Crystals bring a bit more in the way of moodiness to their track. Both are excellent, as is the included postcard that imagines famous Communists in KISS makeup.
