Marie Čermínová: The Myth of Light, 1946 (Czechoslovakia).  Čermínová preferred to be called by the more gender-neutral name Toyen, and for two decades she worked closely with poet and artist Jindřich Štyrský with whom she developed a mixture of abstraction and surrealism they called Artificialism.  See more of her work in the online gallery here.
