At SFMOMA - New Work: Lucy McKenzie. McKenzie has taken over a room on the second floor (right next to Olafur Eliasson's ice car!) and set up four life-size canvases as if they were a stage set into which you can walk. Each canvas features her painted copy of a wall from different parts of the world, each one a beautiful and faithful representation of the original architecture. She plays with your eyes and the gallery space, going so far as to provide a corner to her friend, fashion designer Beca Lipscombe, in which to set up a mini clothing boutique. It's nice to see an artist who isn't afraid to share.

So tonight I pack my bags full of warm things and tomorrow hop on a plane to Amsterdam to spend all of next week in parts Dutch. There will be much eating of cheese, appeltaart, and oliebollen. I'm staying right on the Singel canal in the medieval center of the city, mere steps away from the katten of the Poezenboot. I'm so excited I don't even have words. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone, and I will see you on the other side!
